Dr. Mazur is a recognized expert in complex spine surgery, specializing in adult spinal deformity, scoliosis, complex revision surgery, spine tumors, trauma, and degenerative conditions. He treats disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine and uses minimally invasive surgical techniques whenever feasible, providing university-level spine care in a community setting. In addition to his expertise in complex and minimally invasive spinal surgery, Dr. Mazur treats patients with neurosurgical disorders of the brain, including tumors and trauma, as well as conditions of the peripheral nerves.

Dr. Mazur has served as a tenured faculty member in the university setting, where he was the program director of the neurosurgery residency and the director of the neurosurgery spine fellowship. As a continuing adjunct associate professor of neurosurgery, he conducts ongoing translational spine biomechanics research in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He is a recipient of the Biedermann Award for Innovation from the Scoliosis Research Society and is an active reviewer and editorial board member of several academic journals.
